John Deere marine engines IMO Tier III compliant
Any John Deere marine engine can be easily retrofitted with a modular SCR unit to comply with the legislation and further reduce NOx levels. NPS Driven can provide these modules and also offer assistance with application and, if necessary, additional certification. In most cases, no additional certification is needed. The John Deere Marine Engines below can all be fitted with the Xeamos SCR unit by NPS Driven.
New to the John Deere engine lineup, the JD4 provides up to 120kW (161hp) of power. Compared to the current 4,5L single turbo engine, the JD4 fratures a 20% to 30% reduction in package size and a more than 100 kg reduction in weight. The new engine offers service intervals of 750 hours.
The JD4 features a rear gear train that offers low noise and higher PTO power. Also, there is a durable in-line aftertreatment system with fewer connection points than the current 4,5L generation for ease of application integration.
Applications like: Mobile cranes, Mobile mortar installations, Crushers, Wood chippers, Genset, Pump sets, Harvesters, Hydraulic power packs, and Tractors.
The 13,5 litre, 6-cilinder marine engine is available for world wide markets and many applications. NPS offers engine with Xeamos aftertreatment to meet severe IMO3 demands. The whole range is available for the IWW Stage V market.
John Deere marine engines are fully marinized. They have watercooled exhaust manifolds, water cooled turbo’s and low profile designes. Wet cylinder liners simplify on board overhaul of the engine if needed.
Application: Pleasure boats (propulsion and genset); Commercial vessels (propulsion and auxiliary) and Super Yachts (genset)
The 9 litre, 6-cilinder marine engine is available for world wide markets and many applications. NPS offers engine with Xeamos aftertreatment to meet severe IMO3 demands.

Xeamos after treatment by NPS Driven
Since January 1st, 2016, vessels over 24 meters in length must comply with IMO Tier III emission rules in the NECA areas. The MARPOL Annex VI regulation 13 (2008) sets the NOx emission requirements. US coastal waters, the Baltic Sea and North Sea are designated as Nitrogen Emission Control Areas (NECAs). Engines above 130 kW are restricted to approximately 2 g/kWh NOx, achieving a 75% reduction compared to IMO Tier II. Diesel engines require a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) method to reduce the concentration of polluting nitrogen oxide (NOx) in the exhaust gases below the emission regulations set by IMO Tier 3.
With Xeamos after treatment NPS offers heavy duty solutions for the current EPA Tier III John Deere engine lineup for both the propulsion ratings as for the 50Hz and 60Hz genset ratings
